As a teacher, it is my goal to inspire students through literature. Literature comes in many forms. This website is here to hold a collection of different novels, poetry books, children’s books, graphic novels, and other resources to better the classroom experience of English/Language Arts.
We need to provide ours students with literature that is inclusive, informative, and contains diversity. All of our students should be represented within the text; and the texts should provide insight to different ideas, lifestyles, and cultural backgrounds that are different than our own.
Our students’ ability to fully comprehend the text in front of them can be represented in many ways, including writing. Reading and writing go hand in hand. All of our students should be able to use writing as a
tool for learning, as a means for communicating with others and with his or herself, and as an invitation for self-expression and creativity.
